Level Two
Level Two Scouts wear a yellow rope.
There are three knots and skills which must be demonstrated for this level:
- two half-hitches
- taut-line hitch
- square knot while wearing gloves
Why do you have to tie a knot while wearing gloves? There will be times you will be out in the cold and need to tie a knot. Also, not all Scouts have the same feeling in their hands, so this challenge lets you experience what they do when they tie knots.
